The opening screen says:
"This Tribe is for ALL DNE Members or those who attend DNE style
Dances throughout the country"
Oh dear. I'm not a DNE member (though I do format the annual DNE member
directory every year before camp), nor do I regularly attend dances
"throughout the country", since I dance here in Canada, a rather different
country. The tribe inclusion language excludes dancers from other
countries, which seems odd since many of us Canadians are geographically
closer to the heart of DNE than people in the western states...

Re: dude, which country is that exactly?
Sun, September 10, 2006 - 10:12 PMExcellent point, Ian. My understanding of DNE is that, despite its regional name, it encompasses a network of dances throughout the world. The reference to country, in my opinion, is an oversight.

Re: dude, which country is that exactly?
Mon, September 11, 2006 - 1:15 PMI think nobody has any idea who started the DNE tribe here on Tribe. Mikio came across it, joined and asked (see earliest posts).that unknown person may have written the blurb. Mikio took on moderating this Tribe, so you can ask him if he would change the description.
love,

Re: dude, which country is that exactly?
Mon, September 11, 2006 - 5:58 PMSome suggestions for changing it:
Change "country" to "North America"?
But since there are some dne-similar dances overseas, so instead:
change "country" to "world"? or "North America and everywhere"?
or
Drop "thoughout the country" altogether?
